Our Kids Club will be meeting this Tuesday, from 4-5pm, just outside Andrea's home.

We will be holding a Service Scavenger Hunt which will be outside.

We are SO GRATEFUL to the residents of Pheasantbrook who came out to help us at the South Davis Rec Center's Sweetheart's 5K and Cupid 1K.  Thank you for your support, we can't do this without you!

The Kids Corner, 1st Edition

Okayz. This is Madi here. I was voulenteered to do the blogging for every other Monday. Uhmm ... when writing an informal document like this one, I tend to use a lot of slang and enjoy using computer faces. I'll wait to see whether Andrea gets mad at me or not about it. Okay, to the blogging point, I was told this was supposed to be titled: "What Do You Do in the Summer?" which automatically brings my thoughts to the LDS primary song: "What Do You Do in the Summertime?" which lists a ton of recreational activities for people to do. Some of which are:
Fishing
Making Lemonade
Singing
Daydreaming
or Watch/Make Shapes out of Clouds
Some other ideas that I brainstormed are:
Boating
Vacations
Camping
Hiking
Biking
Swimming
or Voulenteering/Service
I'll know if I need to change this post if I get a call with somebody yelling at me over the phone. (I'm just kidding ... I think)

Coming up! Gardenwalk and Lemonade Stand

Four years ago, Pheasantbrook residents opened their patios and gardens to friends and neighbors for a summer Gardenwalk. The event was such a success that this Saturday we are holding our 

4th Annual Gardenwalk

Three years ago a few children living in Pheasantbrook decided to hold a lemonade stand during the Gardenwalk to raise money for new sand in the community playgrounds. 

This Saturday, our Kids Club will be hosting another 

Lemonade Stand 

to raise money for the playgrounds.

The Kids Club will be selling lemonade and home made treats in three separate locations. Stands will be located at Main Street, Chase Lane and in the middle of Pheasantbrook.

Please tell your friends and family about our sale. This is a great opportunity to 

help us build safer playgrounds

Thanks to your incredible support our "Pennies for Playgrounds" drive our first official fundraiser was a huge success! We are encouraged by the excitement shown by all residents, homeowners and our family and friends. But, this is just the beginning, there are more fundraisers to come! Keep watching!

Announcing Pennies for Playground!

We had a great time at our March Kids Club meeting! This month our kids had a lot of fun learning about healthy choices in what they eat and reported on how they've done at keeping the goals they made in February.  All of our kids kept their goals to eat healthy, exercise more, serve family and neighbors and clean up trash wherever they went. As the kids continue to keep their goals they earn points. In October, those with who have earned 200 points will get a big reward!  Don't worry if your kids or grandkids have not participated yet, there are lots of ways to earn extra points!  Come to our April activity or email us to get started.

“Pennies for Playgrounds”

Tuesday, April 19th, 4-5pm

In April, the Pheasantbrook Kids Club will be collecting donations to go towards our new playgrounds. We’ll be coming around the neighborhood on Tuesday, April 19th between 4 and 5pm to relieve you of that annoying loose change that's hanging around. Please talk to your friends and family who live outside of Pheasantbrook.  Maybe they'd like to donate their loose change to a good cause too!  If you would like to make a donation but will not be available during these hours, please contact us to make special arrangements.

Kids Club March Meeting with a Peak into the Future

We had a great turn out at the February Kids Club meeting. With a focus on the "Have FUN" principle we learned fun games that can be played in doors during the dreary days as Winter slowly gives way to Spring.

We also helped the children set personal goals in each of the three guiding principles of the Kids Club. This is an important part to the organization and purpose of the club. Each month we will be reviewing individual goals. For each goal completed each week, Kids Club members earn points toward attending a special Kids Club party in October. If you didn't make it to the February activity, there's still time to make up any points that you may have missed out on, so come to the next meeting where we can get you on track for the big party!

In March the Kids Club is focusing on the "Make HEALTHY choices" principle.  Our club meeting will focus on ways to be safe and healthy in the kitchen. We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 4-5pm at the Pheasantbrook Clubhouse.  We welcome all children along with family and friends, however, please check the Kids Club tab for more information on eligibility.

Upcoming club activities include our first "Pennies for Playgrounds" drive, a sand castle building contest and Kids Fun Run.  Watch for details as the events draw closer.

The Pheasantbrook Kid's Club is here!

The Pheasantbrook Kid's Club is finally here!  Officially organized in January 2011, our first activity is scheduled for Tuesday, February 15th. Fliers were distributed to the door of every resident in Pheasantbrook inviting children and grandchildren to participate in an exciting adventure meant to teach children skills for a balanced life.  Read more about The Kid's Club by clicking on the Kid's Club tab above.

The Kid's Club is only a small portion of how The Friends of Pheasantbrook organization plans to enhance the Pheasantbrook Community.  As we continue to work out all the details, check our blog frequently, as we will be continually posting updates on our progress.
